Our Historical Building

Our practice is located at 1145 Valley Forge Road—formerly known as the Bull Tavern, and opened in Spring 2019. We are excited to take on this new venture and are proud to have the most wonderful clients to take the journey with us!

Dr. Shreiber and his staff are proud of their state of the art facility!

Our hospital is located in a beautiful historic building in the heart of Phoenixville and Valley Forge.

In April 2019 we moved into our new facility, a state-of-the-art dream project built to serve Valley Veterinary Hospital’s expansive list of loyal customers who have been with us for over 23 years.

A lifelong dream and passion project made real, Dr. Shreiber has built his new hospital with his mission statement at the core of everything: Care, Commitment, Compassion. His goal in creating this new Valley Vet was to have a place where any and all pet and pet parents’ needs are met, including the same dedicated care that has kept clients coming to Valley Vet since we first opened our doors in 1996, but to also be able to provide services and meet needs for our clients where we couldn’t before.

Our new facility features vastly expanded services to take care of all of the medical and lifestyle needs of our clients and patients, and now offers grooming, doggy daycare with customized care plans available, boarding accommodations for cats and dogs with safety and luxury in mind. Our Veterinary facility is thoughtfully designed to accommodate animals of all sizes and needs—all under one roof. With over 40 spacious dog kennels, more than 10 cozy cat condos, two large indoor daycare rooms, and four secure outdoor courtyards, pets have ample room to play, rest, and recover in comfort. Privacy fencing ensures a calm, stress-free environment, while our full-service hospital is just down the hallway, allowing for seamless transitions between care, boarding, and treatment. Every detail of our building supports safety, comfort, and convenience for both pets and their owners.

During the construction process of the hospital, we took careful measures to restore the old historic building to its former glory and our animal hospital will be a new addition.

As we like to call it, Valley Veterinary Hospital is now “pet central”!

Preserving Chester County History

The historic Bull Tavern was built by hand in 1734 to provide food and lodgings to passing travelers. We have a deep respect for the structure’s local historical significance, which includes hosting George Washington of the Continental Army and Generals Howe and Cornwallis of the British Army (on separate occasions) during the Revolutionary War.

Since the tavern has undergone various changes to keep up with the changing times, we’ve decided to restore the building’s facade to its original stonework, removing layers of painted stucco in the process. In a sense, we have helped to uncover a historical landmark that has served generations of people. We look forward to it serving many generations more as the new Valley Veterinary Hospital.
